What you’ll be doing
Reporting directly to the Principal, eCampus with functional accountability to the Associate Vice President, Student Affairs, you will:
- Lead, enhance, develop and manage the delivery of support services within the Student Services department year-round with business hours driven by student needs.
- Contribute directly to the campus by leading and supporting a team responsible for providing a wide range of core services. These include registration and enrolment services, counselling and wellness, accessibility (disability) services, learning support, career and employment services, financial support services, and student life/engagement.
- Support recruitment, strategic enrolment management and student success.
- Support and model competency in diversity and inclusion programming and practices.
- Be part of a campus management team and a provincial Student Services management team.
What you’ll need
Qualifications
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as management, business, education, adult education, social work or counselling.
- You have a minimum of five years (full time equivalent) of relevant occupational experience in a similar student services role, with significant experience in a management or supervisory capacity. In addition, you possess occupational experience working in an online environment.
- Occupational experience that includes managing a remote team would be considered an asset.
- You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-maill, experience with PeopleSoft, Online Learning Management Systems such as Brightspace and familiarity with MS Teams would be an asset.
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience.
- You have experience in training/facilitation preparation, delivery, and evaluation in an online environment.

- You have demonstrated strength in supervising, managing, and leading a team in an online environment
- You demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence
- You are dedicated to life-long learning and recognize the importance for continued professional development for employees. Examples of commitment to lifelong learning might include taking courses related to maintain a registration or designation (e.g. Counselling Therapy or Social Work); taking general interest courses like the micro-credentials offered through the First Nations University of Canada that respond to the six Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada themes)
- You show a strong commitment to community involvement. Examples of commitment to community involvement might include membership in community/service organizations like Boys and Girls Clubs, 4H, Engage Nova Scotia, Community Sector Council of NS, etc.
