Pictou Landing First Nation is seeking a family physician to fill a 0.4 equivalent Family Medicine compensated by Alternate Payment Plan.
The physician would work as part of a multi-disciplinary team out of the Pictou Landing First Nations Health Centre in New Glasgow, a team which includes a Nurse Practitioner, Community Health Nurse, Home Care Coordinator as well as various private and Nova Scotia Health mental health clinicians. There is also a collaborative relationship with a nearby chronic pain specialist and a visiting psychiatrist.
The Pictou Landing Health Center will provide the office space, EMR access, administrative support, and equipment, with no overhead cost to the physician.
The Pictou Landing Health Center has a mandate to provide the community with well rounded care; every effort will be made to support new ideas and programs.

The general expectation is that the physician would be present on site 2 full days each week, with physician travel costs covered from a maximum distance of 500 km weekly, and opportunities for virtual care when appropriate.
