Currently, we are looking to fill two (2) Cyber Security Analysts to join our Risk Management and Compliance team in a Permanent position. Reporting to the Manager, Cyber Security Risk, you will play a key role to ensure cyber security initiatives of varying complexity and variety, are assessed to meet Enterprise risk and compliance requirements. This role may be well-suited to an analyst experienced in IT project delivery and risk management, legal assistant or researcher, or an IT audit and compliance professional looking to expand their career.
This role requires an individual with a technical background and/or education, as well as a keen ability to work with the broader organization to complete risk and compliance assessments. As the ideal candidate, you are known for your deep understanding of cyber security standards and best practices, as well as the inter-relationships of business and information technology. You have an ability to build and maintain a high credibility and interact well with all functional groups to ensure cyber risk and compliance activities are understood and actioned appropriately. Essentially, you must be able to work within an agile team with broad guidelines, function effectively under time constraints, whilst working on several complex projects simultaneously
Accountabilities:
You will drive risk and compliance assessments by understanding the requirements to deliver on the objectives of the Cyber Security Program. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
You will be responsible for performing risk assessment yourself under the guidance of senior resource. you will bring expertise and good knowledge of the industry’s best-known practices to the organization.
Identify cyber security risks and evaluate cyber security policy, processes, and procedures
Identify vulnerabilities or weaknesses in systems and/or processes
Recommend controls (preventative, detective and responsive) to address weaknesses that align to the cyber security standards
Work with cyber security metric owners to report on improvements in cyber security capabilities
Work with the business units to develop a strategy and action plan to ensure they are set up for success for the operationalization of new cyber security capabilities
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
Skills, Capabilities and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Business, Engineering, or other related discipline and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an Information Technology, Information Risk Management related field
CompTIA Security plus/CISSP or equivalent knowledge and experience (good to apply if you are preparing for these exams)
Good working knowledge of the following is considered an asset:
Risk Assessment methodologies and frameworks
Vulnerability Management technologies and practices
Security & Privacy Incident Response & Event Management Processes
System Administration / Privilege Access processes
Security Technologies (i.e. SIEM, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, DLP, etc.)
Cloud Security (i.e. Azure, AWS)
Information Technology General Control assessments
Security and IT methodologies, standards, and best practices: i.e. ITIL, ISO 27001/02, NIST; other security-related frameworks are considered an asset
NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) CIP standards
Industrial Control System (ICS) or OT (Operations Technology) environments
