The Director, People & Culture oversees the day-to-day provisions of Human Resources services to Numeris and NLogic, as well as the corporate HR strategy. This role is instrumental in collaborating in the development of the people strategy with a focus on attracting, developing and maintaining the necessary talent in supporting the business to achieve its strategic objectives. The Director, P&C has multidisciplinary responsibilities in the areas of HR Strategic Planning, Talent Management & Engagement, Leadership & Management, Total Rewards, Regulatory Compliance, and Employee Relations, in addition to people management responsibilities.
This role is Hybrid and the incumbent would be required to come into one of our office locations (Toronto or Montreal) on occasion, i.e. a day a week.
What you will do
- Manage people, with direct responsibility for recruitment, training/development, and performance management, employee relations, programming and HR Operations (Manager, TA, Manager L&D, Manager, BP, Generalist.)
- Act as a collaborative and consultative partner to business leaders across the organization and to the HR leadership team, in the development of solutions to employee related issues that affect business results.
- Provide consultation and advice, including policy interpretation, assessing risk to the organization, conducting investigations, and managing projects to support our core values, company goals and to ensure we deliver on service excellence.
- Support in the design and delivery of the total rewards strategy, policies and programs, including, Compensation, Variable Pay, Group Retirement and Savings Program, Group Benefits, etc. Partners with the VP and other members of the team.
- Develop, plan, direct, and implement firm-wide human resources strategies, policies and programs which incorporate and advance the firm’s overall business strategies.
- Translate near and long-term operating goals into HR processes, projects, and assignments and integrate and initiate work with appropriate team members to ensure appropriate solutions are delivered to support the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Develop and execute a lifecycle approach to talent management focused on staffing, onboarding, development, performance management, career/succession planning, talent movement and retention, leveraging workforce analytics.
- Oversee all day-to-day HR operations ensuring compliance with provincial legal requirements, including employment standards, pay equity, privacy, records management, occupational health and safety, pension, and human rights code compliance.
- Develop reports and presentations for the Senior Executive Team on a variety of HR policy-related topics (e.g. compensation philosophy, retention metrics).
What you have
- Undergraduate degree in a related field
- CHL, CHRE or equivalent required
- At least 10 years of similar experience at a management level or higher
- Experience in influencing, without authority, leadership teams on Employee Relations, broad-based HR fundamentals across all competency areas (e.g. Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Compliance and Regulation),
- Strong ability to interpret national legislation and employment law
- Ability to lead, motivate and coach others
- Have strong business acumen, excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingualism (French/English) preferred
