This position reports to the Senior Environmental Engineer in the Environmental Department.
Please note: This temporary employment opportunity is part of our Indigenous Internship Program. It is intended to introduce a voluntarily self-identified student or new grad of Indigenous ancestry to this position at Nutrien. This term is expected to be 4 to 8 months starting May 2022.
What you will do:
Conduct environmental fieldwork, including: groundwater, surface water and process water sampling and surveying
Conduct environmental data administration, with a focus on utility usage tracking and calculating of usage intensities
Complete area inspections as needed
Assist with regulatory and compliance reporting and record keeping
Assist with the preparation of memos, letters, reports and presentations for the Environmental Department
What you will bring:
Recent graduate or, currently enrolled in and has completed at least 3 years of Environmental Engineering or equivalent degree
Relevant work experience in student environmental engineering/scientist work terms (co-op/internships/summer terms)
Experience with groundwater sampling techniques and familiarity with GPS RTK survey equipment
Extensive use of Microsoft Office applications and enhanced technical skills with other software such as mapping, modeling, or database applications is preferred
