About Our Bloom Terminal
Bloom MB, Distribution Terminal opened in 1979 and employs 8 full-time employees. This Nutrien location stores and distributes anhydrous ammonia, which is moved inbound by rail cars and outbound by truck. Our facility also is responsible for various Dry product offloading by rail, stores and distributes by trucks.

About Our Operator Job

This position is responsible for maintaining safe and efficient operation of the ammonia terminal area. The role includes handling shipments for both incoming and outgoing product fertilizers, recording data, and making operational corrections as required.
This position is located in Bloom, Manitoba, Canada and is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
Operate and monitor equipment
Operate computerized and non-computerized control systems
Perform terminal site maintenance
Troubleshoot and analyze all types of rotating equipment
Record and enter data readings
Load product onto trucks through pump and piping systems
Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
Adhere to local, provincial, and federal governmental regulations and standards
Operate ammonia storage facility
Train ammonia drivers
Unload Ammonia rail cars
Unload dry rail cars Operate inload system for unloading of granular fertilizers including conveyor belt operations
Manage automated Loading system for loading of dry fertilizers
Shuttling of railcars in and out of facility
What you will bring:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license is required
Safety mindset
Positive attitude
Team oriented and reliable
Excellent Mechanical aptitude and capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Possess intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Works with minimal supervision and is self-motivated
Willingness to learn with continuous improvement mindset
Process control experience an asset
Interest or experience in operating heavy equipment including forklifts, skid steer, aerial-lifts, and front-end loader, and track-mobile
Available for overtime and to be “on-call” to support Terminal during non-typical working hours as required
Must be willing to travel occasionally for training courses and/or to assist at other terminals
Must live within a 30 minute radius from the site
Journeymen status in either Instrumentation/electrical/heavy duty mechanic an asset but not necessary
Process Safety Management (PSM), experience an asset
Knowledge and experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, rotating equipment, pumps, valves, compressors, PLC systems
Reads and interprets drawings such as P&IDs, PFDs and specifications an asset
Follows safe work practices, identifies hazards and implements corrective actions to ensure a safe work environment
Compensation & Benefits:
Wage Rate Range: $34.47 – $38.24 CAD per hour. This range is estimated for an Operator in Bloom, MB. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan(s), which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
