OCS Looking for Senior Business Analyst at Toronto, ON Full Time

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst (SBA) who will be responsible for ensuring that IT investments in platforms, applications and infrastructure align with the business goals and objectives of the OCS. The SBA will review work intake opportunities, analyze market trends and emerging technologies, and recommend IT solutions in line with the OCS business and IT plans.

As SBA, you will manage application portfolio management (APM) activities, helping to manage and prioritize the OCS IT pipeline of work and lead discussions with IT partners and business units to maximize ROI of IT investments. You will also be responsible for identifying and supporting opportunities for process improvement and redesign with a lens on ensuring that IT planning is embedded within business planning.

About Your Day

• Defining, documenting and validating business requirements for IT systems and processes, and communicating these to IT development teams.
• Developing artefacts (i.e. business cases, feasibility studies, sequencing diagrams, capability matrices, cost-benefit analyses) to assess impacts to IT strategy and support IT investment decisions.
• Participating in project management activities, defining scope, objectives, timelines, resources and deliverables, participating in agile ceremonies and monitoring progress.
• Continuously monitoring and evaluating IT performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations for IT investments and optimizations
• Identifying and mitigating risks associated with IT initiatives, including cybersecurity risks, data privacy risks, and compliance risks.
• Developing and implementing an IT strategic plan for OCS that aligns with business goals and objectives.
• Leading the Application Portfolio Management (APM) function of the IT strategy and planning team, by managing an inventory of applications used across OCS.
• Conducting research and analysis on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to inform IT strategy and decision-making.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize IT initiatives based on OCS business strategy.
• Collaborating with IT development and operations teams to ensure that IT solutions meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and senior management to ensure alignment between IT strategy and business objectives.
• Serving as a liaison between the IT department and other business units, and facilitating communication and collaboration on IT-related matters
• Preparing and presenting reports to OCS IT and business leaders and other stakeholders.

About You

• 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role
• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or Technology-related field is preferred
• Great communication skills
• Experience using Jira, Confluence and/or related software
• CBAP would be an asset
• Project Management experience in an agile environment is preferred
• Great research and analysis skills

Remote Work

• This position offers a Hybrid work schedule. You will be required to be in the office a minimum of 1 day each week, with the ability to work from home for the remaining workdays (subject to specific business needs requiring office attendance).
• When working from home, a reliable internet connection is required. Remote work is supported with cloud-based applications and collaboration tools
