We are currently looking for an intern to join our Service and Repair team in the Richmond Hill, Ontario office. This is a full-time opportunity involving 40 hours per week. Co-Op placement is for 16 months (May 2024 – September 2025).

As a Service Engineering Intern under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, you will work beside Service and Repair process and quality engineers to help develop service standards to meet business objectives and key performance indicators to improve cost, quality, and delivery.
Job Duties
Co-Op Duties & Projects to Include:
Support the Engineering team with New product/repair introduction, Change Notices (CNs), Change Orders (COs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), discrepant material notices (DMNs) Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPAs) and Corrective Action Report (CAR) activities
Evaluate, recommend and implement process improvements to improve cost, quality and delivery metrics.
Support engineers in developing assembly aids, equipment specifications and manufacturing instructions.
Conduct research and provide improvement recommendations for existing processes.
Collaborates with Supervisors and Managers to establish and maintain communication across departments to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
Evaluate data using Microsoft tools and other software. (SAP, Datasweep, Power BI).
Help engineers monitor and analyze negative quality trends and reports problem areas and identifies solutions to address areas of concern.
A typical day for you will include:
Collaborating with your managers and team to complete role-related assignments and projects.
Actively engaging in and adding value to meetings and discussions.
Engaging in other duties, as necessary.
Job Qualifications
Required:
Must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited 4-year institution. Preferred fields of study include Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electronics/Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
Must be legally able to work in Canada already.
Demonstrated ability to balance academic and extracurricular commitments (i.e. work experience, clubs, volunteer activities, teams, etc.).
Basic engineering knowledge.
Must possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Must be proficient and have practical knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must be able to work well within a team and independently at times with limited guidance.
Preferred:
Experience with SolidWorks/Draft site or similar CAD software.
Experience with root cause analyses/PDCA
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-driven environment.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize/execute multiple concurrent tasks.
Strong, professional communication skills.
Skilled in presentation development and public speaking.
General curiosity and a desire to learn new material.
