We are currently seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join our team as an Analyst in the Application Policy & Conservation department. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the processing of utility applications and policy development, and supporting technical projects related to energy conservation and other topics.
Responsibilities:
Research energy efficiency policy and programs in Ontario and in other jurisdictions
Undertake research and analysis on topics including, but not limited to, energy efficiency, energy savings analysis, estimation of energy savings potential, and cost-benefit savings analysis
Assist Advisors and Senior Advisors with adjudicative proceedings (e.g. notices, procedural orders, decisions, oral hearing schedules) and policy development initiatives, including supporting the planning and coordination of stakeholder sessions and/or working groups
Assist in the annual evaluation, measurement & verification of energy efficiency programs in Ontario
Assist Advisors and Senior Advisors with policy development initiatives
Support the development of policies related to electricity and natural gas applications by conducting policy research and preparing presentations, letters, reports, and other documentation with policy recommendations
Work closely on internal technical and administrative projects to support the team, department and/or organization
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Public Policy, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
2 years’ experience working in a regulatory industry and/or electricity or gas utility conducting research and analysis
Interest and experience in energy conservation, energy efficiency analysis, and/or cost-benefit analysis
Identify any technical or professional qualifications or certifications/designations that are required for this position
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Machine learning programming language and statistical software skills are assets
