Ontario Energy Board Looking for Analyst – Major Rate Applications & Consolidations at Toronto, ON Full Time

We are currently seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join our team as an Analyst In the Electricity Distribution – Major Rate Applications & Consolidations department in this role, you will be responsible for providing in-depth analysis of large amounts of information and providing advice on applications relevant to rate-regulated electricity businesses in Ontario.

Responsibilities:
The role is accountable for reviewing, analyzing, and processing all aspects of rate application cases and providing decision support to Commissioners

Identifies relevant issues and provides in-depth analysis on all areas in an application including but not limited to system planning, engineering, physical asset management, economic, financial, accounting, regulatory policy, cost allocation and load forecasting

Develops and coordinates interrogatories and OEB staff submissions, and support materials such as briefing notes and possible cross-examination questions, in preparation for adjudication of applications

Assists in the management of rate and other applications from utilities, resolving issues, providing professional support on a wide variety of technical issues and subjects

Works with applicants and stakeholders to clarify issues and assists in settlement conferences

Communicates with all levels in the organization to ensure that all procedural matters and information related to assigned applications is accurate and up to date

Works with Public Affairs to develop communication materials related to applications

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Curiosity and initiative, with a strong interest in the energy sector

Previous experience working in a regulated industry and/or electricity or gas utility is a definite asset

Analyzing data and converting analysis into quantitative and qualitative information to support decision making

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is preferred

Knowledge of Power Systems or Physical Asset Management (ISO 55000) is an asset
