The Ontario Hockey Academy is a private school in the heart of Canadian Hockey in Cornwall Ontario Canada. Our High-Performance Academic-Athletic Academy provides expert academics along with elite hockey training and instruction. The Ontario Hockey Academy is a school that is designed to appeal and meet the escalating need for a training-academic teenage hockey player.
Teacher Responsibilities:
Designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans and curricula that adhere to national and school guidelines.
Drawing up suitable assessments and delivering helpful feedback to students, parents, and other teachers.
Establishing a classroom and ensuring that all students understand what is expected of them.
Setting up demonstrations and assisting and supervising students while they conduct experiments.
Providing extra resources, support, and interventions for students who are struggling.
Ensuring all permission slips are signed in a timely manner and acting as a field trip chaperone when required.
Grading papers, updating records, and handling various administrative tasks.
Creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and voicing concerns.
Dorm Parent
Supervise the physical safety and emotional development of the residential students under their care in the evenings and on weekends
Report all issues to Office and facilitate any prescribed treatment and reporting required.
Plan and implement programs and activities for the residents.
Support the overall operations of the Residence Hall and perform certain responsibilities, as needed. This may include cleaning up or similar tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent leadership skills
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
Strong organizational, administrative and computer skills
A proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating students-athletes both academically and athletically
A pleasant personality combined with a positive attitude is essential
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment, get along and work well with other members of the department, supervisors and other employees
Excellent time management skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Able to obtain CPR and first aid
Must receive a negative Criminal Record Check and a driver abstract
Must be currently able to work in Canada or hold a Canadian employment visa
Term: Begin January 2022
Salary: $20.00 + per hour, based on experience
