ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:

The Director, Technology & Innovation serves as the strategic interface with organizational divisions, departments and business units for business technology strategy development, solution discovery, technology innovation, digital risk management and relationship management. This position provides leadership for key IT initiatives and strategic technology projects that enables the organization to realize their business goals and objectives.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct the effective delivery of IT security, network and systems infrastructure, development, and disaster recovery systems and processes
• Work closely with directors and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization
• Develop, maintain, and direct the organization’s IT strategy and roadmap in alignment with organizational objectives and enterprise risk management plans
• Lead teams in the development, costing, documentation and revision control of commercial services and solutions for special projects and strategic customer requests
• Oversee, implement and monitor new projects based-on strategic initiatives and improvements
• Participate with partners, staff, stakeholders in research & development opportunities that can provide ONTC insight into new and innovative ways for delivering its services
• Develop innovative solutions to solve business problems
• Responsible for monitoring, verifying and approving operating expenses
• Analyze data and workflows, create reports and present findings.
• Develop and manage relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and departments to ensure cohesive and collaborative communication
• Research and recommend new products and services
• Lead efforts to improve IT operations, development, and cybersecurity services and related processes
• Lead employees through significant change and competing priorities while providing coaching, support and performance management

REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in the field of computer science or information systems or equivalent with more than 5 years related work experience
• 8+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects
• Background in business management
• Excellent understanding of computer systems, cybersecurity, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
• Strong knowledge of, and experience in project management principles
• Experience in strategic planning and forecasting related to information technology
• Strong business planning and forecasting skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
