POSITION: Support Staff (Replacement)
REPORTS TO: Supervisor Outside Rip & Freight Projects
DEPARTMENT: Remanufacturing and Repair Centre
LOCATION: North Bay
REFERENCE: 390-136-24
RATE OF PAY: $22.30/hour

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Support Staff provides assistance to the Car Shop and Diesel Shop handling and delivering material and parts, operating the forklift, cleaning, as well as specific duties relating to Coach Projects.
MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cleaning and washing duties
Delivering parts
Operating a forklift
Sand and glass blasting
Removing carpeting, tape and ty-rap
Working with glue, seam sealer, paint stripper
Tagging parts removed from equipment
Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment
Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment
May work various shifts including weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather
May include performing preparatory work to coaches on the assembly line
Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Secondary School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
Experience operating a forklift considered an asset
Previous cleaning/labour experience
Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a unionized team environment
Must be available for shift work
Valid driver’s license an asset
Previous railway experience an asset
Must be committed to Company Health and Safety
