Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Looking for Senior Software Developer (Hybrid) at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

As a Senior Software Developer, you will analyze, design, develop, and support software solutions to help Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan meet its business objectives. You will contribute your technical knowledge to complex and interesting IT projects for our Investments division. You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely and come into the office on occasion for team collaboration moments. Our Flexible Travel Program gives you the option to work abroad for a month in another region/country. The choice is yours!

Who You’ll Work With

This position is part of the Information Technology group, within the Enterprise Operations Division. You will work in a cross-functional team building custom analytics solutions to aid investment researchers in the development of quantitative trading algorithms.

What You’ll Do

• Complete well-designed systems of high quality that make appropriate use of technology.
• Develop personal plans and the task detail appropriate for completion of an acceptable volume of work and for the communication of status
• Responsible for maintaining currency in technological trends and directions; continually upgrading personal, technical, and IT related skills through research, education, and self‑motivated experimentation.
• Participate and lead in new technology investigation and make recommendations for new technology adoption where appropriate
• Opportunities to lead technical projects and act as mentor to junior development staff
• Utilize Software Development and Data engineering best practices to drive business process optimization within the Capital Markets organization

What You’ll Need

• Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent working experience.
• Expert level knowledge of current information systems theories, concepts, and techniques.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with end users who are not technical.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience
• Knowledge of data modelling for transactional as well as reporting/ data analytics systems.
• Experience building and testing ETL processes and complex Data Pipelines
• Experience with the following technologies: Python, T-SQL/SQL, MS Power BI, Snowflake, Microsoft SSIS (or similar ETL tool), .NET (core and legacy).
• Practical experience with Continuous Delivery tools / practices (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Delphix, Flyway).
• Experience in various software development methodologies and agile development practices; Test Automation, Test Driven Development, Continuous Delivery.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Services, particularly Azure Compute Services (AKS, Container App Services, etc.) is an asset
• Knowledge of Container technologies (ex. Docker) and Container deployment and management best practices is an asset
• Knowledge of modern ETL tools and technologies (ex. Airflow) is an asset
• Experience working with Capital Markets particularly in support of quantitative trading teams is an asset
• A CFA designation, or working toward achieving a CFA designation is a nice to have
