ONxpress Transportation Partners Looking for Training Development & Curriculum at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Who We Are

Unprecedented in its scale as the largest capital project in the history of the Province of Ontario, the multi-billion-dollar GO Rail On-Corridor infrastructure expansion program will transform the GO Rail network from a commuter service into a state-of-the-art, modernized all-day service with new and faster electric trains every 15 minutes or better across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. ONxpress is responsible for designing, building, operating and maintaining all GO Rail infrastructure and trains for the 25-year concession period for this project.

Opportunity

• Reports directly to the Director of the Training Academy
• Responsible for curriculum development
• Supporting Training Managers in training delivery
• Responsible for ensuring quality training programs for delivery

Responsibilities:

Functional/Technical

• Contribute to developing and implementing training plans in conjunction with the Manager, Training and Development, Senior Managers, and Directors.
• Facilitate blended learning solutions that include in-person and virtual training programs.
• Using adult learning principles and modern learning methodologies, design and deliver the new hire onboarding programs and refresher training for the frontline groups.
• Perform needs assessment, design, facilitate (deliver) and maintain instructor-led learning solutions (in-person and virtual) as well as learner guides, job aids, and communities of practice.
• Consult with management to ensure that training programs are supported and perform program monitoring for continuous improvement.
• Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities. Draft quality assurance policies and procedures. Interpret and implement quality assurance standards.
• Create and maintain professional relationships and communicate information accurately. Partner, and share knowledge, best practices, and training materials with other training teams across ONxpress and Metrolinx.

Customer/Stakeholder

• Provides strategic advice to senior management and staff at all levels regarding sustainability, programs, policies, and indicators.
• Engages and collaborates with staff at all levels throughout the organization to manage and implement programs; liaises with departments working on related initiatives
• Collaborates with and provides expertise to internal/external business clients, partners and stakeholders
• Consults regularly with internal/external stakeholders and partners, to determine their business needs, and follow up on results
• Works as part of the Management team to ensure coordinated service delivery and combined standard procedures are developed and revised regularly to meet the business needs of the organization
• Develops curriculum and programs designed to enhance the training experience

Operational Excellence

• Identifies actions and future work packages to improve operational efficiency
• Contributes to the development of business process improvements, to improve/advance the delivery of strategic objectives
• Leads the development and maintenance of a body of knowledge and procedures to implement and sustain operationally sound and repeatable processes integrated with the overarching procedures to allow for seamless operation with all business units
• Creates an environment of continuous improvement, opens channels of communication that invite suggestions and innovative thinking, and proactively seeks best practices providing top quality of services by both participating in and leading huddles and briefings
• plans and executes the implementation of new and updated technologies.
• develops and reports on key performance indicators aligned with the strategic priorities.

Experience:

• Completion of a postsecondary degree in Adult Education or a related discipline; a CTDP (Certified Training and Development Professional) designation, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of instructional design, adult training facilitation, and applying adult learning theory experience.
• Adult Training Facilitation certificate is an asset.
• Experience in the transit industry is an asset.
• Experience in a government agency is an asset.
