Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and facilitate social and recreational programs to promote a sense of community and enhance the quality of life for residents.
• Assist in the management of resident comfort funds, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to established policies and procedures.
• Provide transportation for residents to medical appointments, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and staff members to understand and address their needs effectively.
• Support residents in participating in activities and events based on their preferences and abilities.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident participation, progress, and any incidents or concerns that may arise.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of social and recreational programs, making necessary adjustments to meet the evolving needs and interests of residents.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a friendly and caring atmosphere.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by adhering to established policies and procedures and promptly addressing any safety or security concerns.
• Assist with general administrative tasks, such as maintaining files, organizing schedules, and managing inventory of supplies.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Recreation, Social Work, or Psychology
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably working with Mental Health populations or individuals with mental health needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish meaningful connections with residents and their families.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a genuine interest in promoting the well-being of residents
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite and record-keeping software.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Knowledge of mental health principles, therapeutic recreation, and person-centered care approaches.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the evolving needs of residents.
