The Opportunity

Cedarwood Station is an 87-suite independent living senior community in the heart of Airdrie, AB. We are currently seeking a PT Night Shift Health Care Aide to join our amazing Clinical Team! This position works alternating Monday’s & Wednesday’s and every other weekend. No two-person assists/transfers or heavy living required. Job duties include nightly chores, safety checks, light personal care and responding to call bells etc. This position offers a starting wage of $17.77/hr plus a night shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Maintains resident records and required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures and legislative requirements.
• Must be able to perform medication assistance and care tasks, including BP monitoring, medication assistance/administration etc.
• Monitors resident well-being in accordance with the policy of the residence.
• Performs other related duties as required to support common area cleaning, laundry and resident care assignments.
• Completes all aspects of resident care as outlined in the personal service plan.
• Answers all resident call bells and provides courteous service.
• Demonstrate ongoing competence utilizing knowledge, skill, judgment, and evidence-based practice in caring for aging adult is vital in this role
• Demonstrate awareness of accident and injury prevention, through safe work practices and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Experience

• Completion of provincial Health Care Aide certification
• Registered with provincial health care registry
• Completion of Medication Administration course
• Experience in a residential care setting is preferred
• Demonstrate infection control procedures
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors and operational partners
• Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle multi-resident requests
• Superior oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat, kneel and lift 25 pounds
• Display compassion, education, proficiency, and experience while assisting residents
• Must have the ability to work independently as we have a small staffing complement

Conditions of Employment

• Completion of CPR and First Aid
• Clear Police Information Check
• COVID-19 vaccination proof. This requirement may be waived if you have received an exemption through the provincial government.
