The Quality Assurance Facilitator is responsible the quality food safety and esthetics of the products. The QA Facilitator follows through on set processes and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards. The job requires the QA Facilitator to spend a large percentage of their day on the production floor to complete their responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities: Monitoring product quality and compliance PRIMARILY ON THE PRODUCTION FLOOR. Coach and train operators and lead hands to an exceptional understanding and compliance to the required quality and Food Safety standards. Assist with one on one training, development of training material and delivery of group training as required. Proactively Identify opportunities and potential non conformances. Promptly Identify and implement corrective action to avoid product holds. Continuously evaluate and work with supervisors and quality manager to identify and implement solutions to address the root causes of problems Monitor accuracy and calibration status of production testing equipment, e.g. thermometers, magnets, metal detectors etc Monitor and coach for accurate and timely generation of production documentation. Be the production representative on the Food Safety team. Assist and be a backup for QA Technician as required with laboratory duties, including chemical testing, packaging evaluation etc. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviours needed to perform job: Excellent English written and verbal communication skill to coach and train production teams on quality expectations. Have a passion to work with people, share knowledge and lead others to success. Ability to recognize and correct training gaps. Task oriented with a high sense of urgency Take initiative to address quality issues independently Attention to detail, with strong analytical skills. Highly flexible with work hours to facilitate working with all areas of production. Sound knowledge of Quality and FOOD SAFETY PRINCIPLES required Food Safety & Regulatory – Ensures HACCP and Pre-requisite program requirements are met – May be a full time or occasional subject matter member expert on the Food Safety and Quality team and participates in meetings of QA and SQF communication – Fulfills roles as dictated by Quality Management System and HACCP Program as key person or as back up.
