Job Title: Security Engineer III
Location: Toronto, Canada- 3 days Onsite/Hybrid
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Security Engineer III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and participate in all aspects of information systems and network security which encompasses intrusion detection, incident response, vulnerability assessment, application security and compliance with the corporate information security policy. The candidate should have strong experience implementing, operating and improving security technologies including DLP, Antivirus, IPS/IDS, End Point Protection, Database Activity Monitoring, Web Application Firewall and end point processes.
Responsibilities and Skills:
Strong experience and background in Security Engineering
Hands on experience with designing, building, testing and deploying new security technologies- development of the operational manual and run books
Adept at providing technical security operations services to support and update existing security systems and works to automate processes related to security implementation, monitoring and enforcements
Strong experience in investigating, evaluating, deploying and integrating operational security tools and techniques to improve assets and infrastructure
Strong experience participating in technical risk assessments, security exposure analyses of systems, networks and business applications
Hands on experience analyzing network security elements, overall network security architectural designs to ensure secure and optimal system and network performance and cost effectiveness
Ability to oversee the installation, configuration and supportive processes of security technologies
Lead Incident Response activities
Stay updated on industry trends and help implement best practices
Good communication and ability to interact with both internal/external business stakeholders on security operations requirements, identifying security processes and builds strategies/solutions to security issues
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent working experience
5-7 years of IT relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in SecOps, SOC, or Security Engineering/Planning/Operations roles.
Demonstrate experience in medium to complex computing environments, with advance knowledge in security technologies and services
Hands on experience in the following technologies: Network Intrusion Prevention / Detection, SSL, IPSec and Site-to-Site, Windows Server OS & Desktop OS, LDAP, AD and Secure Authentication Technologies
Hands on experience with Network Access Control in context to Identity management
Strong experience with implementing and integrating Information Security technologies into corporate operations frameworks
Strong knowledge of Information Security risk assessment methodologies and standards
CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, SANS, or other professional certification applicable to security engineering would be a plus.
