Key Responsibilities
Ensure all relevant data is obtained from internal and external sources and updated as required to perform a proper analysis.
Assist finance department in monitoring and analyzing financial accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Create financial models to analyze trends, make financial projections, and assess financial risks.
Review and monitor annual budget; prepare quarterly budget review reports.
Help develop standardized financial management and reporting tools; create internal control systems to ensure good financial management and enable early detection of fraud or errors.
Produce financial reports for management, as needed including income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.
Present financial models and reports to management on major financial issues/risks.
Experience Requirements
Experience analyzing financial statements and other financial information.
Experience valuing late stage private companies. Preference will be given to candidates with experience analyzing fintech and real estate companies.
Experience with M&A and other types of business combination experience an asset.
Valuation experience also an asset including assessing relative value of enterprises versus their peers.
Strong communication and presentation skills to work effectively with different individuals of varying skill sets and areas of expertise.
Impeccable writing skills and capacity to build organized and flawless documentation.
Identify and execute effective elicitation approach and techniques.
Strong quantitative and qualitative business case analysis skills.
Ability to think strategically and to translate ideas into actions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and nimble environment which can pivot very quickly to reflect the changing needs of the company.
Minimum of two years of related work experience
Financial analysis and financial modeling experience (preferred)
Experience in preparing standard financial statements (preferred)
Qualifications & Education
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or mathematics.
CFA designation or registered in program a definite asset.
Minimum two years experience in finance or investments.
Strong data collection and analytical skills.
Excellent Excel skills, including Macros & Pivot Tables

Exceptional knowledge of finance, capital markets, investments, and financial modelling.

Fluent with financial planning software programs, such as Excel, SQL, QuickBooks; ability to prepare financial statements and create financial models for budgeting and risk analysis.
Strong deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills – ability to make clear, persuasive presentations to management, clients, or other stakeholders.
Ability to recognize potential financial problems, engage in strategic planning and analysis of financial resources, markets, and products, assist management in making sound, profitable financial decisions
