Packers Plus Looking for Machine Operator at Alberta Full Time

Primary Role Focus

The Machine Operator is Primarily responsible for the application of surface coatings process and machining. The Machine Operator role reports to the Internal Manufacturing Manager.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for setup of Mazak lathe

• Identify, pick and return product after treatments completed according to work schedule

• Competently operate coating machines

• Perform first off quality inspection, tests and analysis

• Housekeeping in the Shop

• Perform all required Quality Assurance (QA) checks, including dimensional inspection of parts, recording and/or reporting any deviations

• Preventative maintenance of the machinery and booths according to process instruction

• Report Non-conformance (NCRs) using Packers Non-conformance system

• Sustainment and continuous improvement of Packers Plus Way (PPW)

• Attend daily department meetings for communication of the day’s activities, safety updates, and awareness

• Compliance to API-Q1 / ISO 9001:2015 standards as it pertains to the machine shop

• Compliance with Packers Plus Health & Safety Program

• Other tasks or responsibilities that are required to complete the product

  Position Requirements

  Experience and Skills

• Oil & Gas machining experience is an asset

• Gas deposition experience is an asset

• Proficiency with reading and understanding machining blueprints

• Experience with QA principles (measurements) and all forms of measure equipment

• Basic knowledge of machining practices and procedures

• Beginner to Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Basic experience with live tooling (lathe) asset

• Experience running a variety of other CNC / manual machines an asset

  Education and Training

• Forklift Training is an asset

• First Aid Certification is an asset

• Overhead Crane training is an asset

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

  Physical and Safety Requirements

• Position is Safety Sensitive and subject to a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol testing

• Subject to post-incident and reasonable-cause drug & alcohol testing

• Lifting/carrying up to 5 0 lbs

• Some use of computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse
