PAL’s business analysis needs have expanded to support current and upcoming business intelligence initiatives and divisional requirements. We are seeking qualified applications for the position of Business Analyst to join the Business Support and Analytics section under Finance Group at our St. John’s, NL base. This is a non-IT role where applicants must have a strong analytical and problem solving skills to ensure a strong contribution to the to in-depth business analysis and report writing required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Produce daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports using various reporting tools
Enhance and seek continuous improvement of reporting on business performance
Assist with documenting and analyzing information and data to determine potential solutions from a business perspective
Analysis of the business at a micro level through the aggregation of larger data sets into digestible reports
Support the documenting of existing process and assist with implementing change requirements as part of a structured change
Maintenance of business intelligence reports and post-report follow up
Provide timely responses and solutions on day to day ADHOC business requirements
Partner with business stakeholders to plan, design and create reports and presentations, business models and dashboards to meet their requirements
Assist with user acceptance testing for newly developed data cubes, reports and dashboards
Assist with training end users on newly developed reports and processes
Provide Excel training and work with staff to find efficiencies
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mathematics, Statistics, or Business
Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar role
Work experience in data-mining with knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
Knowledge of SQL, VBA macros would be considered an asset
Working experience with Business Objects, Power BI and Cognos would be considered an asset
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure to meet short deadlines
Aviation experience would be considered an asset
