Paramount Services Ltd Looking for Junior Accountant at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Full Time

Support the daily accounting activities of Paramount and related companies, its month-end process, year-end process, and various special projects including but not limited to; general ledger transactions and reports, balancing, reconciliations; depreciation, tax reports, cash receipts and disbursements, fixed assets and asset management.

Essential Functions

• Monthly reconciliation of GL, credit cards and bank statements
• Monitor capital assets
• Assist with Accounts Receivable and Payable functions
• Handle intercompany transactions & reconcile foreign currency transactions
• Administer capital asset and depreciation sub ledger control, maintenance, and reconciliation.
• Assist in the development of reports for supervisor/management
• Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
• Ad Hoc projects/requests from supervisor

Education & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Junior Accountant
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• 2 year accounting program or CPA program

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, problem-recognition and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• QuickBooks experience an asset
• Computerized accounting software experience
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to fully function in a fast paced environment
• Solid organizational and time management skills; Ability to prioritize multiple assignments
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with managers, employees, vendors, subcontractors, government agencies and others; ability to exercise good judgment, sound reasoning skills and discretion in making independent decisions commensurate with responsibilities.
• Ability to interpret financial statements and use web-based software for accounting and tax reporting applications.
• Ability to maintain highly confidential information, and effectively manage stress and pressure in a frequently changing environment; ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in all situations.
