Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position as an Experienced Assistant Service Manager at Park Mazda in Sherwood Park, AB. As an Assistant Service Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient operations in our service center. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Service Manager with daily operations, managing customer inquiries and concerns, coordinating service appointments, and supervising the service team. Additionally, you will contribute to maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, promoting exceptional service delivery, and upholding the reputation of Park Mazda.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a service-oriented role, preferably in the automotive industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional customer service abilities and a customer-centric mindset
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in computer systems and software used for service management
- Technical knowledge and understanding of automotive systems and repairs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Requirements
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a service management role, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
- Exceptional customer service orientation with a passion for exceeding customer expectations.
- Proficiency in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Track record of achieving and surpassing service-related KPIs and targets, with tangible examples to showcase accomplishments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, team members, and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical abilities for data-driven decision-making.

- training isn’t just a theory. We mean it. We have a full onboarding and training plan for every employee, including management training with NCM, and industry consultants from various fields.
- Full management team to support your efforts, from Detail, Service BDC, Parts Dept, and a Fixed Operations Manager.
- 50% of our business is Internal. We have a massive Used Car Dept.
- An additional division for Non-Mazda (All Makes & Models), called Park Automotive to drive additional, called Park Automotive.
- Normalized working hours. You’ll work M-F, with a half day Saturday every 3rd week. Little O/T hours.
- You’ll actually get a lunch hour. Seriously – take your lunch.
- Our Service BDC staff are trained to be back-up support advisors when/if you’re short staff.
- Reasonable expectation of number of work orders each advisor has to write each day.
- The owner, Mitch is actually a nice guy, cares about people, and will know your name on day one. He’s not the typical Dealer Principle you’ll meet who only cares about numbers.
- all of the inbound calls are funnelled to our Service BDC team. The craziness of phones ringing off the hook in front of you and your advisors isn’t a think here.
- Our warranty is only about 3% of our business. Mazda’s don’t break much, so warranty is low. Makes life in the front-end easy to life in.
- We have very little to no carry-over each night, and we book the shop properly so there isn’t an unreasonable shop load of customers to process each day.
- The number of customers we load is day is based on the number of advisors and technicians we have – so the advisor team can properly service the customers that are in front of them.
- We have 6 loaner cars, a shuttle, and if we need Uber to help our customers along.
- We give every customer a Courtesy Wash, and Roadside Assistance from free. Makes it easy to make customers happy.
Salary
$72,000 base, plus up to $12,000 in CSI Bonus, and up to $23,940 in Customer Pay Hours Per RO Bonus.
