Parker Hannifin Canada – Parker Canada Division is seeking a Division (Director) of Human Resources to join a key division in Canada in a senior management role in Milton, Ontario. The position supports an engaged, and dynamic team at an exciting time of growth and transformation. Reporting to the Country Human Resources Manager, the successful candidate supports the people strategy including Talent Management, organizational culture, engagement, and business enablement. As the Director of Human Resources, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our organization and make a lasting impact on our strategy of providing our team members with a work environment that supports their careers.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of progressive experience in the areas of Talent, Engagement and managing a diverse workforce.

Work closely with General Manager, senior leadership team, business units and management teams in the Division environment, supervises other HR staff as necessary.
Strategic Partner – understanding and involvement in business issues, participation in business task forces, provide program management of workforce planning, skills assessment, succession planning, learning and development, champion of company culture and management practices.
Administrative Expert – continuous improvement and automation of H.R. processes such as benefits administration, employee record keeping, recruitment/staffing process, compensation/pay activities.
Employee Champion – champion employee communication programs that provide employees open, candid and frequent information-sharing with management, develop employee involvement systems and self-directed teams. Provide due process to associates to deal with differences, development of employee skills, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development and performance management development systems.
Change Agent – act as a liaison for leading change, create understanding among associates about the need to change, and how change will help them and the business in the short and long term, assist in the modification of systems and structures to support needed change, monitor progress by developing measures for change and develop long and short-term plans to keep attention focused on change
10-12 years in Human Resource Management.
B.A. in relevant field, M.B.A preferred but not essential
Understanding of Canadian HR related legislations, including, but not limited to provincial employment standards, Workers Compensation, Quebec Norm du traville/CSST, Pay Equity.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills, ability to establish a rapport with others.
Bilingual (English/French) – a definite asset
Strong organization skills, attention to detail
Ability to conceptualize processes – to see the “big picture”.
Technical knowledge or familiarity with a manufacturing environment is helpful
Follow up on employee issues in an effective and timely manner.
Act as a facilitator of change
Occasional travel for meetings or training.
Flexibility to alter work schedule for timely completion of projects, spend time on off shifts; willingness to respond to occasional after-hours calls for information.
Exercise of creative problem-solving and critical decision-making skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues with tact and diplomacy.
Maintenance of professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and/or participating in professional associations.
Certifications:
Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation or equivalent preferred.
Skills:
Knowledge of International Standard ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
Understanding of Lean Principles
Understanding of EHS
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
