PCD is looking for a candidate to fill the position of Sales Trainee at our Calgary, Alberta location. The successful candidate will take ownership of their position, are highly motivated, and possess the ability to learn, be mechanically inclined and committed to providing premier customer service.
Sales Trainee Program
The program is typically 12-18 months in length. During this time, the Sales Trainee will be provided with training and go through job rotations that will help in equipping the skills and experience necessary to be a successful Territory Manager.
Our paid Sales Trainee Program allows you to be a part of a culture that rewards collaboration, technical excellence, and innovation. Our trainees in the program will be exposed to a broad range of business activities including but not limited to; strategy development, product knowledge, online marketing/e-commerce, customer service, manufacturing, engineered system, building sales relationships and vendor relationships, purchasing, selling and project management. You will learn from a very experienced sales, management, and operations team
Upon completion of the training program, trainees will have the opportunity to apply for open Territory Manager positions from various Parker locations in Canada from coast to coast.
Responsible for field sales support in assigned geographic territory to secure and grow market share. Assigned to select National/ Regional accounts to provide field sales support in conjunction with the efforts of the sales team.
Provide product and technical support for retail programs and services on initial set up of accounts
Assist distributors with technical support and sales efforts
Work with and assist Territory Managers to set up new distribution and container placements
Participate in joint sales calls with senior Territory Managers to select accounts
Provide product and technical support for retail programs and services on initial set up of accounts
Provide product training for distribution and end use customers on an ongoing basis
Promote and support Parker’s Value-added services with distribution and end use accounts
Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the competitive products and their activity in the marketplace and provide a report on monthly basis
Motivate and provide sales direction and technical support to the distributors. Assist in the conversion of competitive accounts to Parker.
Attend product training schools in Canada and the United States
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, sales, or marketing
Strong mechanical aptitude
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
Adaptability to new environments
Strong problem-solving skills
A strong desire for diversity in their work environment
Entrepreneurial spirit with desire to grow the business
Strong relationship building skills
Ability to relocate regionally within Canada and United States
Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident
Preference for Bilingual (English & French)
Travel
Participants in the Parker Sales Trainee Program visit customers, distributors, and multiple Parker Hannifin facilities as part their work experience, up to 50% in each month. This company-paid travel offers participants the chance to see how sales theories can be applied to real-world situations.
