Senior Financial Analyst The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Manager of Finance and Accounting with responsibilities that include leading the financial statement drafting process, reconciling account balances, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, as well as providing insightful financial analyses to assist with the company’s strategic goals. You will work in a hybrid work arrangement with flexible hours. Specific Accountabilities: Take the lead in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, in an accurate and timely manner to meet TSXV reporting requirements Perform monthly reconciliations of all accounts, including reconciling general ledger to subledgers, ensuring proper support, review of accruals, and investigation of discrepancies. Key accounts include Investment Properties, Properties Under Construction, and Loan accounts. Oversee accounts payable and receivable to ensure proper coding and accuracy Manage day-to-day bank transactions and process payment of invoices, bills and expense reports (cheques, ACH, wire transfers, etc.) in accordance with approval policies and procedures Assist in the preparation of financial budgets, cash flows, short-term and long-term forecasts Provide recommendations to optimize accounting systems, processes and procedures Assist in maintaining the property accounting directory including updating rent rolls, property details, and related info Producing month-end reports to management Develop ad-hoc models and other analyses to drive initiatives, monitor trends, identify exceptions and to support the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic processes Any other tasks as may be required to meet company objectives
Requirements: Post-secondary degree / diploma, (equiv. of Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business) Either near completion for CPA, or CPA designated 3-5 years of progressive Finance experience Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP and IFRS Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail Advanced Microsoft Excel Effective time management and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to balance multiple concurrent projects and priorities Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment
