Position Title: Summer Student: Summer Student – Talent Management (4-month term)

Position Summary:
The Talent Management Summer Student is responsible for providing exceptional support to our People and Culture team of Parkland, for the 4 month term. As a member of the People and Culture team, you will assist with the day-to-day activities that support continuous improvement; this includes updating Parkland’s intranet site, inputting, and managing the quality of data for talent review, as well as updating talent profiles. The summer student will also be responsible for providing support on rolling out and keeping track of diversity and inclusion initiatives, while also managing the integrity of data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Updating Parkland’s intranet site to help employees stay up to date with the company.
- Inputting and managing the quality of data for talent review.
- Managing the integrity of data throughout all processes, while also demonstrating the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.
- Managing and updating talent-profile information.
- Supporting team members in areas of onboarding and onboarding logistics.
- Rolling out diversity and inclusion initiatives and keeping track of those business milestones in the LMS.
- Assist the Organizational Effectiveness and People and Culture team members with continuous improvement related tasks, special projects, and events as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
- You are available for a 4-month term beginning on or around May 2nd, 2023.
- You are currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution working towards a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Business or Human Resources is preferred; candidate must be in their 3rd or 4th year of their program.
- You have exceptional interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities.
- You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a Rolling challenging and exciting work environment.
- You are a creative and analytical thinker with some project management skills who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- You have tenacity and an entrepreneurial spirit, and are passionate about seeking out win-win solutions.
- You have strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- You will be part of a global team and must be able to work effectively through a high degree of collaboration and communication through in-person meetings and video conferences.
