Financial Controller
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will manage the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. As a leader, you will encourage innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, challenge the status quo, and support creativity in your area of responsibility. We are seeking a candidate with a CPA with 10+ years experience, ideally in the trucking and transportation world. A strong compensation package will accompany this role.
Responsibilities:
· Guiding all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
· Engaging in and managing day to day financial transactions
· Preparing cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handling daily cash management
· Preparing financial statements, both internal and external
· Preparing monthly financial indicators as selected
· Preparing cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses
· Preparing special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
· Participating in the budgeting processes.
· Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations
· Providing company leaders with insights for decision-making purposes
· Establishing and maintaining financial controls
· Assessing and improving accounting processes and procedures
· Screening, hiring, training, developing and retaining accounting department employees
Qualifications and Experience:
· Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
· CPA preferred
· 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
· 3+ years experience as a Controller
· Logistics industry experience is preferred
· Knowledge of TruckMate Transportation Management Software is highly desirable
· Proficient with Excel
· Budget forecasting experience required
· Experience managing outsourced/remote staff preferred

Salary: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
