Peace River School Division
requires a
Part-Time Educational Assistant
at T. A. Norris Middle School
The school is located in the town of Peace River and serves students from grades 5-8. The school offers a high quality core academic program, consisting of English, French Immersion and French Second Language and a wide range of exploratory courses which include Art, Drama, Home Economics and Band. T.A. Norris also offers hockey and dance academies.
One Part-Time (0.80 F.T.E.) Educational Assistant is required commencing immediately and continuing until June 27, 2023. The successful candidate will be providing one on one support with students.
Qualifications
Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent
Experience and/or training working with students in a junior/senior high school setting
Skills
Ability to work with children with varied skill levels, needs and abilities
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment and accountability
Requirements
Provide an acceptable current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
Provide an acceptable current Children’s Services Intervention Record Check (applicants within Alberta)
Assets: This school offers French programming to its students, knowledge of the French language is considered an asset.

This is a union position under the CUPE Local 4839 Peace River School Support Staff.
Rate Of Pay
$ 20.16 to $ 25.29 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
