Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.
HARRY BALFOUR SCHOOL is seeking candidates who enjoy working in a student-focused and collaborative environment.
We invite applications for a Temporary Full-Time Educational Assistant (29.25 Hours/Week) for the 2024-2025 school year. Educational Assistants work under the supervision of a certificated teacher.
This position will include supporting students in a Living Skills program. Experience with AAC (Alternative Augmentative Communication) would be considered an asset.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Educational Assistant Diploma is preferred.
CPR/First Aid would be considered an asset.
Experience working with children in a classroom/organized setting is preferred.
You have the ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks, as well as assist with personal care.
You have the ability to meet outside of school hours.
You have the ability to work as part of a team.

A current Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check), dated within the last six months, is a condition of employment.
Terms and conditions of employment are outlined in Policy GGG: Personnel Policy for Non-Teaching Staff. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $19.48/hour to $25.64 hour.
