PeaceHealth is seeking a Nurse Technician II for a Part Time, 0.30 FTE, Day position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $20.65 – $32.43. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.
As a nurse tech, you’ll obtain on-the-job training while enrolled in an educational program. You’ll be better prepared upon entering the workforce upon graduating! Job Summary
Assists professional nursing personnel in providing quality, compassionate patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care. Utilizes the skills and knowledge equivalent to a fourth quarter nursing student. Performs procedures and techniques under direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and commensurate with verified skill and education level.
Details of the position
Provides patient care in a safe and timely manner. Works with the assigned RN/supervisor to receive assignments and resolve issues.
Assists in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the Nurse Tech and level of skill and education.
Performs basic technical skills, including CPR; taking and recording vital signs; measuring and recording fluid intake/output; applying dressings; recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions; administering treatments and medications as directed by a nurse.
Assists patient with personal care which may include bathing; mouth and skin care; grooming and dressing; toileting assistance; eating and hydration.
Provides patient with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
Addresses age-specific needs of individual patients.
Gathers information about patients and documents in the healthcare record according to established standards.
Assists in the transporting of patients, specimens, supplies and equipment and in the maintenance and stocking of supplies and equipment to assure optimal functioning of the department.
Ensures department safety and maintenance in a manner consistent with the hospital and department policies and procedures.

Accredited School of Nursing Required: enrolled and has completed three quarters or second semester of nursing school
Required: Nurse Technician – Washington
Required: Basic Life Support
Must be enrolled in one of the following accredited nursing programs:
Lower Columbia Community College
Clark College
Skagit Valley Community College
Whatcom Community College
Bellingham Technical College
Sumner College (NT2 only)
Clackamas Community College
Portland Community College
Working Conditions
Lifting
Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
Environmental Conditions
Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
Mental/Visual
Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
