The School – Fort Assiniboine School
As a small rural K-9 community school, Fort Assiniboine is committed to providing a respectful, safe, caring environment in which students are able to develop a positive attitude and strong work ethic in the pursuit of personal and academic excellence. The purpose of Fort Assiniboine School, together with our community, is to encourage and support individual success.
The Position
The successful candidate must be a self-directed team player who is interested in working with complex needs children. Hours of work will be 2 days (Monday/Tuesday or Tuesday/Wednesday if there’s a Holiday on Monday) per week at 3 hours/day in the afternoon. Duties are to commence January 22, 2024 and will end June 11, 2024.
Qualifications/Requirements
Experience supporting students with developmental delays
Experience supporting students with behavior difficulties
Independence to work one-on-one with students in kindergarten
Preference will be given to applicants with an understanding of childhood development
A clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a program assistant
Good at building a rapport and presenting a non-judgmental attitude
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults
Able to work as a member of the school team
A positive addition to our instructional team
Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed
Ability to work in a flexible learning environment
First aid would be an asset
