The Senior Manager of Software QA will fulfill a new role needed to help with a growing team. Focal points to be achieved: Directs the activities of a research group in the research and/or development of technology relevant to an organization’s future products, projects and programs; Collaborates with others on the direction of basic research and development relevant to long-term objectives and concerns; Writes and approves manuscripts for publication; Develops strategies to ensure effective achievement of scientific objectives; Monitors and evaluates completion of tasks and projects; Oversees interdepartmental activities and research efforts; Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Basic Qualifications:
BS/MS major in Computer Science, Engineering, Information systems or equivalent
Minimum 5+ years as a Software QA Manager
Experience with all stages of SDLC (development, software quality assurance testing, implementation, etc.)
Experience in Agile/SCRUM
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery
Experience with testing Web and Cloud solutions as well as Desktop and Client server solutions
Previous track record of providing direction and leadership to teams in a cross-functional, global environment
Must have experience managing teams testing complex, enterprise level software products and appliances
Preferred Qualifications:
Life Science background is a plus

Thorough understanding of, and experience with, structured software development methodologies including design, development and testing in an Agile environment

Ability to lead the QA team to design efficient test cases against functional and non-functional requirements.
Experience in testing complex high reliability systems hat include hardware components as well as software applications.
Familiar with working on products that are controlled by government regulations.
Experience in using automation as an integral part of the QA process.

Responsible for staffing decisions, including leading recruiting efforts
Provide strategic thinking and leadership pertaining to new ways of leveraging information to improve team processes.
Ensure process compliance & assist in driving improvements, as needed
Maximize the productivity of the team by assigning work, breaking down silos and facilitating communication
Provide technical leadership and guidance internally to the team and externally to management
Create and maintain a culture of high quality
Operational:
Coordinate and manage the verification efforts of multiple software products
Effectively communicate project status, metrics, and issues
Identify resources and assign responsibilities
Coaching, mentoring and professional development of team members
Objective setting and review
General line management duties such as holiday and expense approvals
