Additional Job Description

Due to company growth this new role directly manages the day to day operations of the BC drivers out of the Vancouver DC along with coordinating transportation of 3PL freight from both our Vancouver and Calgary DCs; ensuring on- time delivery of warehouse shipments. Acts as the liaison between store operations leaders and the warehouse operations team. This team member will own the relationships with 3PL carrier partners from BC to Manitoba and hold them accountable for meeting agreed to service metrics. This position will also assist in maintaining systems involving store ordering, warehouse pick schedules and delivery schedules to stores. Ensure compliance with the Motor Vehicle Transport Act including Hours of Service Regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safety – Operate in a way that builds trust with our customers, pets, and ACEs.
• Maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements (DOT and OSHA), any associated reporting
• Monitor’s drivers’ hours of service via ELD (Geotab)
• Ensures timely PM’s for all fleet and driver equipment

• Compassion – Communicate and act from the heart with genuine care and courtesy.
• Managers drivers’ hours/ Overtime via Workday
• Conducts recurring training with drivers (safety, performance, etc…)
• Notifying all stores of any changes to their order day or delivery day
• Handling request for changes to the schedules made by Helpdesk, FBC’s, DM’s and stores.
• Informing the DCs of changes to the schedule and picking

• Expertise – Provide knowledge in an understanding and informative way.
• Oversee the day to day Operation of the Transportation Department in Vancouver and 3Pl carriers out of Calgary
• Other duties as required
• Maintains store schedules in NAV and JDA.

• Efficiency – Use time and resources responsibly.
• Responsible for scheduling, supervision and performance management of all fleet drivers
• Oversee 3PL shipments and hold carriers accountable to agreed service metrics for Western Canada
• Ensures timely and accurate service to stores
• Provide timely communication of all issues regarding vehicles and drivers.
• Checking both the schedules in NAV and JDA to make sure they are correct
• Leveling picking across the week for each DC when changes are made as much as possible

Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications

• Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and experience operating in compliance with these regulations
• Knowledge of Enterprise systems, NAV, JDA, WMS, TMS an asset
• Post Secondary education / graduate preferred
• 3+ years experience in the Transportation industry
• Prior Managerial experience preferred
• Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel skills
• Ability to work variable hours as needed

• Warehouses can be noisy, busy places to work, with dozens of warehouse operatives, pickers and packers, working alongside many forklift truck drivers who are moving pallets between shelves.
