Researchers find ways to integrate Photonic’s proprietary quantum security measures into existing and new network infrastructure. This role is responsible for direction around and implementing security-related research, demonstrations, and future products. This role is for you if you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have strong problem-solving skills, and are adventurous when taking on new challenges. You will be the main expert in cryptography and information security on Photonic’s quantum engineering team.

This role is responsible for direction around and implementing security-related research, demonstrations, and future products. You will be the main expert in cryptography and information security on Photonic’s quantum engineering team.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
- Understand the existing global and local network security and cryptography ecosystem and implementations
- Research and find new weaknesses in existing systems
- Collaborate with other teams to implement novel cryptographic schemes in testbeds and existing infrastructure
- Apply networking security standards in new designs
- Interface with cybersecurity departments of large organizations
- Design new standards for future quantum and classical networks
- Contribute to our IP portfolio
- Share your domain expertise in cryptography and information security across multidisciplinary teams – be a leader!
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, supplemented by an advanced degree in information security
- 5 years of experience in information security, cryptography, or a related field
- Deep expertise in symmetric and asymmetric key cryptography
- Familiarity with network security protocols
- Understanding and/or interest in quantum cryptography is an asset but not required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations in rapidly changing R&D environment
- Outstanding teamwork skills
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, particularly across disciplines
