Clinical Team Associate – Pharmacist Medication Management Design Team

The CST Clinical Team Associate is responsible to ensure Clinical Process is the foundation for all design of the Clinical & Systems Transformation project (CST) across Providence Health Care (PHC), Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) in collaboration with the Service Provider with the goal of improving clinical workflows and care for patients.
What you’ll do
- Support the Team Coordinator by proactively identifying medication safety risks and ensure medication safety principles are addressed in system design.
- Participate in design sessions and assist the Team Coordinator in meeting preparations, session activities and idea promotion during sessions, post session follow up, outcome completion, decision, action and outcome documentation.
- Bring best practice to the team through reviewing and summarizing interdisciplinary research and local/ national standards of practice, reviewing best practices presented in sessions, ensuring work is within clinical standards of care.
- Engage and obtain input from colleagues across the health organizations and summarize feedback for the working groups’ consideration.
- Accountable for working collaboratively with all members of the team to ensure that project deliverables are met within the target timelines.
- Work to support optimal standardization of care practice and associated workflow processes across the care settings while also supporting flexibility for unique requirements.
- Participate in design sessions with other teams to optimize the system for an integrated design that supports best care for patients.
- Review draft workflows, operating procedures and screens to identify opportunities for improvement and mitigation of risk.
What you bring
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
- Completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program and post graduate doctor of Pharmacy Degree supplemented by two (2) years’ recent, hospital pharmacy experience including a minimum of one (1) year medication safety experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
You will have:
- Comprehensive knowledge of medication safety principles and practices.
- Broad knowledge of the applicable standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hospital pharmacy computer applications, information systems, patient care information systems and related software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of drug distribution processes in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrated ability to represent your clinical specialty and across the continuum of care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practice and work flows in other health care settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workflows in own clinical area and others.
- Proven ability to engage and coordinate activities within a work setting.
- Proven ability to generate required outcomes from initiatives with specific purpose.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean or related process improvement principles.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (Until December 27, 2023)
Wage: $50.37 to $62.97 per hour
