Day-to-Day, You’ll Accomplish:
- Processing payroll for all employees, including salary, bonuses and deductions.
- Keeping track of employee hours, overtime, banked time and absences in electronic time tracking system
- Administering employee benefits such as group insurance plan and group pension plan
- Ensuring compliance with Canadian payroll tax laws, such as the Canada Pension Plan (CPP)/Quebec Pension Plan (QPP) and Employment Insurance (EI)
- Responding to employee inquiries and resolving payroll issues
- Keeping confidential employee and payroll records up-to-date
- Generating reports on payroll and benefits costs, hours worked, and other relevant data
- Performing year-end payroll activities, such as T4 forms, year end adjustments
- Calculate final payments for employee terminations. In lieu, vacation etc.
- Processing accurate ROEs.
- Tracking and paying out bank-time based on company policies.
- Performing regular payroll audits to make sure deductions and benefits are being applied correctly.
Your Track Record:
- Experience with interprovincial payroll – Ontario, Quebec and BC
- Experience with US payroll – California
- 2+ years’ experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role
- PCP certification would be a bonus
- Experience with implementation would also be a bonus
- Degree in business, finance or accounting preferred
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations
- Skilled in payroll software programs and Microsoft Office
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
