Job description

Primary responsibilities include:

• Love pets, obviously!

• Have a HIGHLY flexible schedule, consisting of daytime, evening, and weekend availability; this position is PART TIME ONLY, and will vary anywhere from 18-25 hours per week. PLEASE NOTE: this is NOT a seasonal position, this is a permanent, part-time role in our store

• Feel confident working both independently, as well as with our other awesome team members

• Cashier and customer sales; process purchases, payments, and returns

• Placing small items (under 10 lbs) including pet supplies, etc. into stock in the sales area of the store

• Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs.)

• Thrive on being in an extremely busy, challenging, fast-paced work environment

• Have a deep passion for helping and educating people on pet wellness

• Understand why we actually like green vegetables and fresh food for pets (or be willing to learn why!)

• Have reliable transportation

Other responsibilities may include:

• Preparing merchandise orders and other miscellaneous paperwork
• Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions to maintain store appearance and cleanliness
• Other duties and tasks as required

Qualifications:

• Retail/Customer service experience is a must.
• Comfortable handling customer questions/concerns.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills e.g., POS.
• Knowledge and experience working in the pet industry is an asset.
• Knowledge and experience with natural pet products and wellness is an asset.
