What you will be doing:
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Design and drive the company’s financial governance policies in order to maintain accurate & timely financial reporting and effective financial accounting processes
Design and maintain a dashboard of key financial and operational metrics
Interface and support company subsidiaries to ensure timely, complete & accurate submission of financial statements, working papers and data; adherence to IFRS; and to drive improvement in financial and operational efficiencies
Prepare executive finance slide decks and other financial presentations as required
Assist in M&A, corporate finance, due diligence and other finance deliverables
Assist the Corporate Controller to:
liaise with external auditors to prepare working papers & technical memos and resolve issues related to financial reporting (consolidated financial statements and MD&A) and controls and complete all regulatory reviews, audits and filings on a timely basis
assist in monthly preparation of the company consolidated financial reports, forecasts and cash flows as well as annual consolidated budgets
work as back-up to Controller
Tax
Maintain compliance with all local, provincial/state, federal, international tax filing requirements
Design and drive effective tax strategies including transfer pricing policies
Public Company Administration and Filings
Maintain the company’s equity plan administration
Oversee the company’s capitalization table and the administration of equity issuances
Respond to shareholders requests, as required
Prepare and oversee public filings on SEDAR and OTCIQ
Compliance
Maintain compliance with all local, provincial/state, federal & international reporting requirements
Maintain internal control compliance, including establishment and audit of relevant controls as required
Recommend and implement improvements in accounting and reporting systems along with internal controls to facilitate accurate and timely reporting
Assist in ensuring the accuracy of press releases
Provide guidance on any financial, regulatory or statutory policies that may arise and provide the financial impact so that it is accurately forecasted
Who you are:
You have a CPA Designation
You possess 5+ years’ experience in a managerial accounting position
You have public company experience. US and international exposure will be considered as an asset
You have strong IFRS reporting/consolidations experience
You love meeting deadlines in a timely manner and have a strong attention to details
