Port Moody Pediatrics Looking for Medical Office Assistant (MOA) at Port Moody, BC Full Time

About us

We are a friendly four-physician, busy pediatrics medical office located in Port Moody. We are looking for a part-time Medical Office Assistant to join our collaborative team.

We are hiring a part time Medical Office Assistant to help with the daily operations of our office. The ideal candidate must be a friendly, compassionate, self-directed, reliable, and organized team player. The right candidate will be excellent at interacting with children and their caregivers, as well as friendly and helpful to our staff. Candidates will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and should be able to multitask and work well under pressure. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in English.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Answering the phone and calling patients to schedule/confirm appointments; Processing electronic medical record messages (EMR) messages. Forwarding messages to the respective physician, when appropriate.
• Checking in patients, and confirming/updating their contact information, and reviewing their COVID-19 screening questionnaire.
• Processing paper mail, emails, and faxes. Scanning documents into the EMR.
• Cleaning exam rooms and common space at end of day, keeping track of supplies, and ordering more office supplies when needed.

Qualifications/Additional requirements:

• Previous experience as an MOA in a medical office is a must (at least 1 year).
• Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program is an asset, but not required with the right experience.
• Previous experience with Accuro electronic medical record (EMR) system is an asset.
• A recent criminal record check, and vulnerable sector screen may be requested before finalizing the job offer, since we work with children.
• You must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (at least 2 doses), and be compliant with wearing a medical grade face mask, as long as Public Health continues the mask mandate in medical offices.

Hours

• 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Opportunity to provide vacation relief, sick leave for the other MOA who works Mondays and Tuesdays, if available and interested.

COVID-19 considerations

• Masks, plexiglass barriers, limit on patients in the waiting room, screening patients on the phone as well as when they are in the office, hand sanitizer, thorough wipe down of exam rooms/areas

Salary

• Will be negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

Travel

• The office is located approximately 650 meters from Inlet Skytrain station. A parking stall is available if needed, at no extra cost.

Salary: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
