INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

We are currently seeking a Lead to work with our infrastructure support team. The Lead, IT Infrastructure Operations will oversee the daily management of staff and operations that support Portage Mutual’s infrastructure services.

Overview of the role:

• Work as part of the Information Technology infrastructure team who are primarily responsible for on-premise, cloud technologies, network and related security.
• Lead and mentor other staff in the area of IT systems administration, security, change management, documentation and architecture.
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively during meetings and promote the sharing of ideas and knowledge
• Create and maintain IT documentation such as change management, SOPs, and internal architecture documentation
• As a backup resource, provide department management

Skills & Experience:

· Minimum of 1-year direct staff supervision experience including daily task management, performance evaluation, leading meetings of less than 5 staff and prioritizing work.

· Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT systems support and administration in a corporate environment.

· Extensive experience with VMWare virtual desktop infrastructure

· Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V

· Experience and training in Microsoft Azure

· Experience in a Windows Server environment

· Experience in the administration and support of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy

· Certified in Agile Scrum Master

· Experience with HPE/Aruba network switches

· Experience with Fortinet security products including firewalls and sandboxing

· Experience enforcing security policies

· Experience working in a highly secure environment with the utmost regard for security and privacy.

· Capable of leading resources in the troubleshooting of complex technical problems

· Proven ability in interpreting and developing complex network diagrams

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize

· Forward thinking and holistic in perspective.

· Work well under pressure in a busy environment

· Excellent attention to detail

· An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered

Additional Responsibilities:

· Work with staff on a daily basis to prioritize tasks and project work

· Ensure that system and network systems are healthy and investigate as required.

· Provide systems architecture skills that align technical solutions to business goals

· Contribute to and maintain system standards.

· Research and recommend improvements that can automate system administration. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

· Ensure the highest level of system security through a proactive approach to

· Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

· Actively use helpdesk and workflow management tools for all requests, incidents and problems.

· Provide the IT service desk with notifications regarding system-wide events that may impact the systems they support

· Perform user account management oversight to ensure security compliance

· Ensure that system change management procedures are adhered.

· Be available after-hours for any major infrastructure or security incidents.

Salary to be based on Education and Experience
