ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional and experienced person to join our team as Director, People & Culture – Americas. In this role, you will be both strategic and tactic, you will participate in developing the strategic roadmap of the Talent and Culture team and you will be executing related initiatives for our talents based in Canada, the US, and other locations. You will be the first point of contact for our employees based in the Americas and you will seek opportunities to develop best practices, processes, procedures, and tools to enhance the employee experience, achieve our business goals and support our growth.
This role is for someone who can see the big picture as well as take the lead and ownership of organizing, executing the details of the various operations. In this role, you will report to the Chief People & Culture Officer and you will be working from home, in Canada, however, some international traveling may be required from time to time.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Provide strategic leadership as well as day to day operational responsibility for all aspects of HR within North America
Oversee and execute operations of human resource programs and policies including onboarding, employee status changes, off-boarding, promotions, transfers, and administration of compensation changes, benefits, and more
Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
Design, propose, and implement best practices, processes, and tools related to HR operations to align and achieve our business goals and our continued growth
Build tools and programs to ensure a positive, diverse, inclusive, and respectful culture that reflects our desire to be an excellent employer of choice
Manage the entire employee performance review and merit increase process, pay equity, and other related operational activities
Create and implement innovative employee recognition programs to fast track and recognize the contributions of our talents
Work partnership with Talent and Culture team members to develop a clear career path for our people as well as a leadership program to develop our leaders
Participate in many other projects as required
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Specifically, we are looking for someone with the following toolbox:
University degree in Human Resources or in a related field. A combination of studies and significant experience is also valued
Certification such as SHRM, CRHA is preferred
Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience and experience in a fast past technology environment is considered a strong asset
Experience in managing payroll and ensuring payroll compliance is considered an asset
Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
Demonstrated strong leadership and initiative
Solid problem-solving skills and mindset
Bilingual (French/ English) (written & spoken) is considered an asset
