ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a creative and driven candidate to join the team in this contract position as the Technical Writer and Training Specialist. The mandate for this role is to create documentation and training collateral that will support our internal stakeholders in our business processes and platforms. A successful candidate in this role is a person who can capture the heart of workflows and processes from the Subject Matter Experts (SME) in a way that allows others to easily understand and apply them in their operations. You will be working from your home remotely as you collaborate with other team members.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Create documentation and training collateral while adhering to a style guide
Work cross-functionally with other team members from Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services, Support, Finance, and Development as SMEs for their processes and tools
Learn current and new product features to ensure the development, creation, and improvement of all types of documentation to support usage and adoption
Support style-guide updates and improvements for consistent and repeatable content release
Support content management for the full life-cycle of the content from creation through obsolescence
Support content management infrastructure in storage framework and best practices
Practice internal training and knowledge sharing through various mediums applicable to the audience
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Bachelor’s in communication, computer science or in a related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical writing with a preference in the IoT / SaaS field
Working knowledge of HTML, Confluence Wiki, Camtasia or other video editing tools
Expert knowledge of technical writing standards and guidelines
Solid communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team and with multiple internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to research information, to grasp and synthesize complex ideas.
