Position: Tax Manager
Tenure: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Vaughan, ON (Hybrid)

Position Overview:
Our client, a boutique accounting firm that specializes in the construction industry is rapidly growing. They are in the market for a driven Tax Manager that is dedicated to providing the best service to their clients.
What will you be doing?
· Manage a team of 3-5 professionals, could go up to 10-15 during tax season
· Support tax planning (corporate restructuring, estate/succession planning, mergers/acquisitions, sale of business, etc)
· Outline steps involved in specific tax-related transactions and consequences of various transactions while providing recommendations
· Analyse and handle tax calculations to showcase benefits/consequences of proposed transactions
· Analyse tax correspondence to communicate with CRA in regards to any requests or audits
· Research any tax-related matters
· Use knowledge of corporate and personal tax to support clients
· Analyse personal and corporate tax returns
· Communicate with clients in regards to any questions and queries
· Communicate any technical issues with Tax Partner or Managing Partner
· Update Tax Partner on the progress of projects on an ongoing basis
· Provide coaching to the junior members of the team
· Participate in various corporate committees and summer projects
Must Haves:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience
· 3-5 years of accounting experience
· 2+ years of tax experience
· CPA designation or completion of all required hours
· Experience working with both Canadian personal and corporate tax
· Knowledge of the application of tax-free rollovers (S85, S86, S51)
· Experience with tax strategies (surplus stripping, capital gain stripping, intergenerational transfers) is an asset
· Experience with tax transactions (mergers and acquisitions, asset and share sales, pre-sale tax planning) is an asset
· Knowledge of Income Tax Act and other important aspects in regards to tax planning and strategizing
· Enrolled or plans to enroll in the In-Depth Tax Course
· Experience with software such as CaseWare, Caseview, TaxPrep, or Profile
· Strong MS Office skills
· Some travel may be required
