This position will commence the first teacher day of the 2022/2023 school year.

Qualifications:
As outlined in the Education Act, 1995
Must hold or be eligible for a Saskatchewan Professional A teacher certificate
Bachelor of Education degree
Master’s degree or masters in progress in an applicable area – education, psychology, social work, leadership, Human Resources
Must have 8-10 years of experience
Experience in working in a collaborative, solution focused environment where needs of individuals and groups are at the forefront of planning
Understanding and acceptance of the mandates of various agencies – education, health, social services, justice, corrections, addictions
A philosophical belief in the value of inter-professional collaboration and a vision for actualization of that belief
Understanding of how to use data to drive interventions and supports
School administration experience considered an asset
Builds strong working relationships
Effective communication skills
Highly organized
Flexible, open minded
Ability to provide leadership in developing those same skills in others
Duties:
Provide support and guidance to schools in their work with at-risk students and families
Liaise with other agency partners to support and advocate for students and their families
Provide direction and support to the Advocacy and Behaviour Consultant team
Work directly with school administration regarding students with intensive needs
Description of the Role:
The Coordinator of Student Support Services works in conjunction with the Curriculum Coordinator in the Learning Department to actualize a vision of inter-professional collaboration and the implementation of Tier 1 supports to students and teachers. In particular, the Coordinator supports the activities of the Advocacy and Behaviour Consultant team and the Psychology team. However, this portion of the position description may vary depending on the successful applicant’s skills and experience.
A primary function in this role is interagency collaboration and liaison both formally and informally. The Coordinator represents Prairie South at various committee tables and thus must be articulate, respectful and knowledgeable about school division and other agency mandates with a spirit of working collaboratively. As well, various other duties may be assigned by the Superintendent of Learning.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the currently negotiated Provincial Collective Bargaining Agreement and Locally Negotiated Teacher Agreement.
