Premier Project Consultants specializes in building design, project management and development of multi-unit residential and commercial buildings in Canada, the USA and Caribbean. We are searching for a talented and dedicated Architectural Technologist with experience in drafting mid and high-rise residential projects to join our growing team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Utilize your in-depth knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, materials, and building methods to create accurate and comprehensive architectural drawings and documentation
- Prepare drawings of plans, elevations, cross sections, and details of buildings from rough sketches and/or from general engineering design information according to established standards and procedures
- Develop and refine architectural plans, elevations, sections, and details using industry-standard CAD software and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with other CAD Technicians, Architects and Engineers with minimal supervision
- Produce working drawings for permit application and tendering
- Prepare and review documentation required for permits and approvals from relevant authorities Participate in design meetings, providing technical insights and contributing to the development of innovative solutions
- Stay current with local, national, and international building codes and regulations to ensure all architectural designs meet legal and safety standards
- Actively promote and contribute to the successful completion of projects from initial concept through the planning process to implementation
- Review and evaluate architectural drawings and documentation for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established standards
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architectural technologists, assisting in their professional growth and development
- Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams during the building phase to ensure accurate interpretation of architectural plans and specifications
- Address on-site design challenges and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful project execution
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in architectural design, sustainability, and integrating new knowledge into project workflows
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Architectural Technologist, with a minimum of 3 years in residential projects. Experience with high-rise residential would be considered an asset
- Proficiency in drafting software (Revit and CAD)
- Knowledge of building regulations, building codes, and safety standards
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
