Our client is a privately held company with a long history as a leader in providing temporary, contingent workforce solutions in Canada. Their Finance group is growing, and they are looking to add an A/R & A/P Accountant to their dynamic team for a 3-month contract opportunity.
Please note this role may have the opportunity to extend the contract beyond 3 months.
As an Intermediate Accountant, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and can respond quickly to changing priorities and deadlines. Location: Yonge & St. Clair
Flexible Hybrid Work Environment: 1-2 days in office
What you will be accountable for:
- Enter Payables and Receivables as requested
- Work closely with payroll and payments department to ensure accuracy of all entries monthly
- Cross training with other members of the finance team to provide back up and support
- Data entry and/or analysis in the back-office system
- Bank reconciliations
- Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Reconcile monthly government remittances
- Month end General Ledger analysis, preparation of journal entries for review and posting
- Review monthly vacation schedules, prepare and post journal entries
- Other related financial duties as required
Your expertise includes:
- 2 or more years of experience with full cycle accounting, US experience an asset
- A strong skillset of strength in analysis and reconciliations
- Excellent Excel skills and a proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- This position requires a high degree of confidentiality, which means you have knowledge of protection of privacy
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
