The Opportunity:

As an integral part of the project team, the Site Superintendent, Construction coordinates in delivering base building additions and new build project within the retail, commercial and institutional sectors. Under the guidance of the Project Manager, the Site Superintendent is responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling all project activities from site. You will also supervise all sub-contractors in the execution of construction activities ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.

The Site Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, including adherence to and enforcement of the Occupational Health & Safety Management Program. The Site Superintendent will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Prodigy’s policies and applicable laws/ standard and authorities having jurisdiction. This position will require travel to various Prodigy sites and occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 15+ years experience as a Site Superintendent within the construction industry
• 15+ years experience with base building and interior construction.
• Fulsome understanding of Construction Management (CM) delivery model
• In-depth knowledge of the construction industry specifically to construction specifications, building materials, means & methods, and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders (Trades, Architects, Tenants, Owner Representatives, as well as Executives) in all forms including written, verbal, email, telephone, and in-person
• Capacity to lead and manage the project’s site team (contracted and internal team) and create an environment that promotes collaboration and synergy towards the project’s success
• Highly independent, driven, and dynamic individual
• Experiencing using technology in the field – working knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.
• WHMIS, Fall Arrest and First Aid Certification are required
• Maintaining accurate documentation, including drawings & change order information, drawings logs and site binders
• Ensure risk assessment, management, and exercise judgment in escalation (H&S, quality, schedule, cost)
• Experience ensuring company safety policies and PPE requirements are followed by all individuals accessing the site
• Ability to consistently deliver projects respecting the schedule, cost and quality standards established
• Capacity to develop the project execution strategy, project schedule, and resource forecast in collaboration with the project management team
• Ability to identify missing/gaps in scope, constructability issues, and opportunities to value-engineer through detailed construction documentation review and articulate these findings and proposed solutions in a clear concise manner
