Position: Business Data Analyst
Location: Hybrid Opportunity – Toronto, ON, Canada
Duration: Full Time Opportunity
Job Description
Candidate should have 5+ years relevant experience to identify, prioritize and help deliver various data products within the organization. Perform requirement gathering for identified data products and work closely with technical teams, data engineers to execute data product delivery.
Must Haves:
Proficient in creating, maintain BRD’s (Business Requirement Documents)
Data manipulation, handling using SQL
Some insurance background experience (Life & Health preferred)
Role & Responsibilities Overview:
· Create, maintain BRD’s for identified data product, strategy initiative
· Proficient in data handling, manipulation using common tools – SQL, Excel
· Identify, prioritize and help deliver various data products within the organization
· Emphasis on implementing data strategy initiatives for eg. merging internal data with third party data to create data asset for data consumers etc.
· Work with technical teams, data engineers to execute data product delivery
· Perform data product business value mapping and communicate to stakeholders
· Manage day-to-day project operations, serve as the functional and domain expert on the project team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Candidate Profile:
· Master’s degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
· Based out of Canada, US – required in client office for minimum 2 days a week
· Some recent experience in insurance domain/ data is must – Life and health insurance is good to have
· 5+ years experience in handling data products, data strategy type projects
· Can perform data analysis and business analyst responsibilities
· Technical = SQL, Python, Data Analysis, Database tools, Data Exploration, Data Visualisation, Insight Generation
